Description:
As the General Manager, you will oversee all aspects of studio operations and sales. Your leadership and hands-on efforts will be key in driving the studio’s growth, client satisfaction, and production standards. You must be experienced and skilled in all aspects of running a production and broadcast studio from pitching new business to evaluating technical equipment to hiring crews and beyond. We truly need someone who can do it all.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
LEAD GENERATION
- Research organizations and individuals to identify new customer leads
- Plan and oversee new marketing initiatives
- Attend conferences, trade shows, meetings and industry events
- Plan and conduct Open Houses to promote film in Arizona
- Become active in local industry-related organizations
SALES
- Prepare and present client presentations
- Contact clients to inform them about new technology and services
- Create sales pricing sheets
- Develop quotes and proposals and manage quote to the end
- Develop sales goals and ensure they are met
OPERATIONS
- Oversee the acquisition, implementation, maintenance and replacement of technology infrastructure; researches, evaluates and recommends new technologies
- Manage operations for studio including but not limited to budgeting, physical and financial assets management, and resources planning
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements
- Responsible for staffing, supervision, training
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism, communication, business administration or related field
- 10 years of experience in progressively responsible television or film management positions preferably in a variety of market sizes
- Business development and sales experience in TV and/or film industry with strong ties and relationships with advertising agencies, agency creatives, agency producers and directors
- Strong financial controls and reporting experience
- In-depth knowledge of the film and production industry and current events
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time, with overnight trips likely
- Strong business, technical and creative acumen
- Skill in prioritizing and triaging obligations
- Attention to detail
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Excellent presentation, pitching and marketing skills
- Possess highly effective negotiating skills
- Ability to work under pressure calmly and effectively and to tight deadlines
- Must be a good listener and a positive force for all team members
- Self-motivation to grow core competencies; resourceful
Working Conditions:
This position is in a combination office environment and production studio and will be required to sit or stand for long periods of time. This position will routinely work on a computer and communicate on the phone. This position will be required to attend events and meetings outside of the office. Position will require overnight travel.
