Description:

This position ensures prompt and polite service to members and their guests.  Additional responsibilities include:  preparing service stations; greeting, receiving food and beverage orders, serving and presenting the check to the members or guests; clearing and resetting tables; cleaning, and closing service stations.  The ideal candidate will have a strong customer service approach and accustomed to working in a highly collaborative and communicative team environment.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides a welcoming and warm approach, and acknowledges members and guests
  • Serves food and beverages to members and guests
  • Sets tables according to type of event and service standards
  • Answers requests on menu selections
  • Communicates with the kitchen regarding menu questions, length of wait, recook orders, and product availability, in addition to member and/or guest special meal requirements, food allergies, and/or dietary needs
  • Records transaction in Jonas system at time of order
  • Checks in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverages
  • Picks up trays and cleans tables; ensures a clean dining area as necessary
  • Maintains cleanliness of work areas, china, glass, etc., throughout the day
  • Maintains cleanliness of guest areas by clearing, collecting and returning food and beverage items to proper area
  • Completes closing duties, including restocking items, turning off lights, etc
  • Follows all company and safety and security policies and procedures; reports accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; completes safety training and certifications
  • Completes other duties as assigned

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Strong passion, commitment to excellence and true service heart to carry out daily tasks
  • Strong desire to provide excellent guest service experience
  • Prior serving experience in a hotel, resort or club environment
  • Ability to be highly punctual and work schedule hours based on business needs
  • Neat and polished appearance and ensures uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
  • Strong relationship, communication and collaboration skills to effectively partner with co-workers and broader teams in a professional manner
  • Strong desire to cultivate positive working relationships, supports team to reach common goals, and listens and responds appropriately to the concerns of others
  • Ability to read and visually verify information in a variety of formats
  • Proficient with Jonas system

Working Conditions:

  • This position provides serving support to several outlets:  Dining Room, Café, Banquet Room and On-Course.  
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for entire work shift
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects 25 pounds or less; 50 pounds or less with assistance
  • Have fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination
