Description:
The Senior Database Engineer is responsible for planning and developing overall database design to support the Analytics team.
Responsibilities:
- Solve business problems and provide answers to business questions
- Participate meaningfully in requirements gathering
- Set up, configure, maintain, secure, and tune MySQL/SQL/Redshift instances
- Design, maintain, and secure MySQL/ SQL /Redshift databases
- ETL data across multiple platforms
- Create and update SQL queries as needed
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement database backup & replication strategies
- Assist colleagues with query optimization, report generation, and database support
- Monitor databases and troubleshoot performance issues
- Provide feedback on capacity planning, future plans, and database-related trends
- Stay aware of developments in database technologies and explore alternatives
- Plan regular upgrades and migrations of databases
- Perform other related duties as required

- Postsecondary education is helpful but not required if experience and expertise suffice

- 5 years of experience with databases
- 3 years of experience with MySQL/SQL Server/ Redshift

Working Conditions:
This position primarily works in an office environment. Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time.
