Description: 

The Sr. CNC Machinist/Operator is responsible for operating a 5-axis CNC machine including programming, setup, and operation. Candidates must have 5-axis programming experience and the advanced skills necessary to work with very complex surface geometry.  

Responsibilities:? 

  • Perform set-up, operation, program editing, and inspection of hardware with minimal assistance on CNC machine in accordance with CAD designs, blueprints, SOP and other supporting documentation and procedures.
  • Perform necessary functions to develop new CNC programs and execute established ones.
  • Perform to established productivity standards and sustain a level of quality for parts produced.
  • Prepare and verify material to be used in production.
  • Inspect parts to process specifications.
  • Ensure that machinery, equipment, and facilities are maintained for efficient and safe production.
  • Debug new computer programs, ensuring the piece meets specifications, maintaining the equipment, and assembling the pieces.
  • Ensure high-quality completion on all jobs.
  • Review work-in-progress to ensure quality and timeliness.
  • Perform de-burr, conventional machining operations, and rework.
  • Operate a manual milled as need for simple machining operations or projects.

Job Skills Required: 

  • Experience using CAD design and CNC machining packages, preferably MasterCam.
  • Experience performing manual milling operations
  • Must be able to read and interpret industry blueprints.
  • Must be able to determine machine tool and CNC program errors.

Job Skills Preferred: 

  • Golf industry related experience a plus.
  • TIG welding experience a plus.

Soft Skills: 

  • Enthusiastic, positive attitude and hands-on approach to manufacturing.
  • Excellent communication skills are required to interface with designers and engineers.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Strong focus on quality.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Education: 

  • HS Diploma. Associates preferred.

Certifications: 

  • Not applicable 

Years of Experience: 

  • Minimum 5 years of 5 Axis CNC programming experience using MasterCam or equivalent programming code

Travel:

Working Conditions: 

This position primarily works in a loud machine shop environment. ?This position is occasionally required to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, and lift up to 40lbs. ?May be required to stand on feet for lengthy periods of time. ?This position may be exposed to exhaust fumes or other airborne particles.
