The Manufacturing Accountant will support worldwide manufacturing and supply chain operations in North America, Asia, and Europe. The successful candidate should have a strong background in accounting, project, inventory management and supply chain environments. Additionally, you will work cross functionally within the PXG team to drive improvements throughout the global operations, supporting growth and standardizing processes.

This position will assist in championing the integration and optimization of PXG’s global Warehouse Management System (WMS). This system is currently being selected. This role will support system and process design, go-live and management.

The Manufacturing Accountant will work with all PXG functional team members to ensure inventory is effectively managed, reported, and available to fulfill customer orders. The successful candidate will provide support to eliminate wastes and improve end to end process stability while reducing process variation. 

This position will be responsible for the overall inventory management within the PXG inventory network and will set targets and track through KPI’s developed and monitored to ensure that acceptable levels of inventory levels and accuracy are reached. This position will develop and maintain processes and procedures that ensure ongoing integrity of the inventory control systems.

The Manufacturing Accountant is responsible for the coordination and management of all inventory control functions including conducting daily cycle counts and book-to-book comparison between Acumatica (ERP Finance) and our new Warehouse Management System (WMS Project is in vendor selection stage). To be successful in this role, this individual must continuously seek to maximize resources and provide guidance on data analytics and plant metrics supporting continuous improvement and best practice efforts. Strong cost accounting experience necessary.

Responsibilities: 

  • Work closely with PXG Plant Controller and Operations and Supply Chain team to improve warehouse and plant performance and achievement of performance objectives.
  • Oversees the daily cycle counts, slot audits and the reconciliation of activities between systems
  • Assists in development and training of the global warehouse management departments to ensure that all procedures are being followed properly and in a timely fashion
  • Plans, executes, and reconciles physical inventories
  • Prepares analysis of adjustments inventory activity and transaction reports
  • Partners with Procurement/Manufacturing to minimize costs, improve quality and drive margin improvement.
  • Direct global inventory control and management and perform analysis of variance identified during inventory cycle counts and annual physical inventory to maintain inventory costs to budgeted levels.
  • Manage plant or warehouse inventory metrics (e.g., breakage, yields, product obsolescence, excess, and obsolete calculations) using historical data, current information, and metrics targets to minimize costs. Standardizes across entities.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of warehousing procedures/processes within the WMS to improve operational effectiveness and compliance
  • Developing and executing process improvement projects and initiatives to drive operational effectiveness within PXG locations.
  • Performs other projects related to Good Manufacturing Practices, shipping, receiving, inventory management. Leads inventory valuation analysis.
  • Review and develop landed cost process and reporting into channels and regional reporting deliverables.
  • Works closely with the supply chain teams in the implementation of policies and procedures to improve the accuracy of financial and inventory reporting.
  • Participates in the development of PXG’s standard costing process and procedures.   
  • Ensures bill of material structures and updates accurately reflect company inventory valuation policy and proper product costing.

Experience and Education Required:

  • BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Finance or Accounting
  • 5 years of accounting or process engineering experience including use of standard costing, lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Prior experience in a supervisory role in the field of accounting within a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Advanced experience working in Microsoft tools (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint) and business intelligence software (i.e., Tableau)
  • ERP System usage experience (Any Major ERP: SAP, IFS, JDE)
  • Comfortable rolling up your sleeves and conducting detailed, complex analysis
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple deliverables.
  • Mindset of continuous process improvements with focus on questioning the status quo.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and proven experience in cultivating collaborative working relationships with teams across an organization
  • Promotes a safe and inclusive work force.
  • Experience with automated accounting systems is required, experience with Acumatica a plus
